We know that it takes more than a love of sports to be a great coach.
From visual demonstrations to storytelling to effective class management, our in-depth training teaches Coaches how to make sure that every kid has a chance to succeed and feels free enough to have fun.
Upon hire, new Coaches complete an initial training program with our leadership team, followed by a 12-week mentorship program with an experienced Mentor Coach. Coaches then progress through our Coach Certification System according to individual experience and training. Coaches leading Adapted Programs receive specialized training in program modification.
As a condition of employment, all Coaches have First Aid/CPR certification and have completed a Vulnerable Sector/Police Clearance check. These certifications are tracked and renewal is mandatory.
Though they may come from a variety of backgrounds – from health sciences to kinesiology to recreation management – there’s one thing all of our Coaches have in common: a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children.
